Is this positive news for WL candidates, i.e. round two is not so strong, hence candidates cannot be taken off the waitlist early?
Can anything be inferred from what Eileen wrote? What do you think?

please let me know if the following is correct:

the first 2+2 class applied in 2008 and would work for 2 years, thus attending class in fall of 2010? therefore, the application cycle last fall was the first one affected?

Hi Sandy,

Been following your blog and responses very closely and you have posted a lot of useful information, so thank you in advance for that. I did have a quick question about HBS.

I have applied R2 and a very good friend of mine who is a current student, wanted to drop a note in for me, however on the Director\'s BLOG hbs posts up they mentioned that they are \"discouraging any informal input by HBS students this year\", however when my friend called in anonymously and asked if it would hurt, they said it would not hurt my chances and that they may or may not read it.... what do you think I should do in this case, follow the Director\'s blog? or was that just her 2cents so they don\'t get bombarded by notes.....

Thanks

Regarding the quote about McKinsey and Baker Scholars: McKinsey makes 99% of its job offers at HBS prior to Baker Scholars being named. In fact, most offers stem from summer internships, where offers are made after only one term of grades.

I neglected to also point out that those who are older and have kids tend to go for EMBAs.

A key factor in analyzing this chart is missing....How many people who graduated before 2004 actually applied. People who graduated before 2004 are more likely to be established in their chosen field and either have an MBA or no interest in an MBA. I would wait for numbers on how many people applied in each age group before making any determination on age bias.

What's your explanation for why that is? Is the school biased towards younger applicants now?

As a 2+2 admitted student, I know how confused I was during the application process. So I am writing some articles on my blog from my experiences, which I hope will atleast help a few people.
