THE LAST WAIT LIST LETTERS

FROM HBS AND STANFORD
HBS STANFORD
It’s Eileen Chang from the MBA Admissions office at HBS. I hope this message finds you well.I am writing to let you know that we are now closing the wait list for the year and will be releasing all wait list candidates as of today. We regret not being able to offer you a spot in the class of 2010. You will be receiving formal notification via email this afternoon, indicating that your decision is available to view on-line-this final step is required for processing purposes.

I realize this news may come as a disappointment, especially given the tremendous patience you have shown us as part of a very small group who has stayed on the wait list into June. I hope you know that we are truly appreciative of your cooperation. In return, we would like to offer you the opportunity to receive feedback on your application. If this is of interest to you, please let me know via email, and I will arrange for a time to speak with you over the next two weeks.

Thank you for applying to our program this year. We wish you the best with your next steps.

Sincerely,

Eileen Chang

This is the 17 July update on the Stanford MBA Program waitlist process. Thank you for your patience and understanding. The class count is 373 incoming students for the MBA Class of 2010. Since 20 June, one student received a deferral of admission for personal reasons.

We continue to believe that the class count will fall below 372 and that we will be able to make one offer this summer.  [AND MAN, THAT KID WILL BE ONE LUCKY DUDE!!!!!!!-SK ] As of this morning, there are about 40 waitlist candidates under consideration.

We will provide the final waitlist update on 14 August and close the waitlist early in September. We will not release candidates before closing the waitlist, but we strongly encourage you to withdraw from the waitlist to pursue any compelling educational or professional opportunity available to you.

If you remain on the waitlist, please ensure that we have your contact information, but do not send additional letters/recommendations. To withdraw from the waitlist or if you have questions, please email us at mba_admin@gsb.stanford.edu.We appreciate your cooperation. Please be assured that I wish I could bring better news today.

Cordially,

Well, I agree, being on WL that long and then getting dinged is a bummer, but HBS did hold out the pzzblty of feedback, and most of these kids DO HAVE ACCEPTS AT OTHER TOP SCHOOLS, and often use those accepts to get deferments, and then reapply to HBS. Soooooooooooooo, sad but not epic making sadness.
